Privacy & confidentiality

We take the confidentiality of your information seriously. Here’s what you need to know.

What we collect

From nominators: name, email, city, and region. From nominated companies: contact details and the financial and business information you provide in our surveys (revenue, profit margins, staff count, markets, and the narrative information about your business).

Who sees it

Your survey responses are visible only to (a) the Caffeine Prize organising team, and (b) the panel of judges, all of whom have signed confidentiality agreements before being given access to any company data. We do not share your information with sponsors, the public, or any third party.

What we publish

If you are shortlisted, we publish your company name, website, and category. If you win, we publish your name, website, category, and the narrative content (your story and lessons) you’ve agreed to share publicly. We do not publish your financials, ever.

How we store it

Data is stored in a secure database (Supabase, hosted in Sydney). Access is restricted to the organising team via authenticated logins. Survey links use unique unguessable tokens.

How long we keep it

We retain your survey data for the duration of the current prize cycle plus 12 months for archival and audit purposes, after which the financial data is deleted. Nominator records and published winner profiles are retained indefinitely.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted at any time by emailing prize@caffeinedaily.co.
